Allu Arjun teases AA22xA6 as visual spectacle with Indian sensibilities: “It will be a very international presentation”
Telugu cinema superstar Allu Arjun, fresh off the monumental success of Pushpa 2: The Rule, has set the stage for his next ambitious project, tentatively titled AA22xA6. Speaking at the WAVES Summit 2025 in Mumbai, the actor shared insights into his first-ever collaboration with acclaimed filmmaker Atlee. The sci-fi action film, announced on Arjun’s 43rd birthday, is poised to redefine Indian cinema with its global appeal and rooted storytelling.
During a panel discussion titled Talent Beyond Borders at the Jio World Convention Centre, Arjun elaborated on the project: “It’s my 22nd film with director Atlee gaaru, who made Jawan and many other superhit films in the South. We have come together. I really liked the idea that he told me, and I like his aspirations. I felt we were like-minded on many levels. We hope to bring a very new visual spectacle to Indian cinema. It will be a very international presentation with total Indian sensibilities.” A Vision for Global Indian Cinema The Pushpa star emphasized the film’s potential to elevate Indian cinema on the world stage. He expressed optimism about the industry’s growth, stating, “With all due respect to every other film industry in the world, whether it is Hollywood films, Korean films, Iranian films, or Chinese films, everybody has had an impact on global box office. We have such a big film industry, and we’ve been there for so many decades. But we never had a serious impact on the global box office. I feel it’s just about time… India is getting there. We, as a country, are growing and in the coming years, Indian film industry will make a global mark.”
AA22xA6, backed by Sun Pictures, is described as a high-concept, VFX-driven spectacle with a budget reportedly exceeding Rs 500 crores, making it one of India’s most expensive films. WAVES Summit 2025: A Platform for Visionaries The inaugural World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit, hosted by the Government of India, saw Arjun share the stage with industry giants like Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Rajinikanth. Reflecting on his roots, Arjun credited his family, including his grandfather Allu Ramalingaiah and uncle Chiranjeevi, for shaping his career. He noted, “I felt we were like-minded on many levels,” referring to his synergy with Atlee, underscoring their shared vision for pushing creative boundaries.
