Sunny Deol on mistakes and apologies, "Mistakes happen; saying sorry is important"
Sunny Deol, who is making a comeback in the upcoming action thriller Jaat, directed by Gopichand Malineni, recently appeared on a podcast with Komal Nahta. Speaking about his film, which features the catchphrase ‘Sorry Bol’ in the trailer, Sunny revealed whether the phrase resonates with him in real life or contradicts his personality.
When asked whether he prefers people apologising to him or openly admitting his own mistakes, Sunny shared his perspective on the significance of apologising. “Sorry is an emotion; it means realizing you’ve made a mistake and accepting it,” he explained. He admitted that he is self-aware when he makes mistakes. “Whenever I make a mistake, I realize it,” he said.
The conversation took a playful turn when the interviewer jokingly asked whether he ever makes mistakes at all. Sunny lightheartedly acknowledged that errors are a natural part of life. “Mistakes happen; that’s how we learn. But realizing them and saying, ‘I’m sorry,’ is very important,” he emphasized.
When quizzed about the last time he apologised to someone, the actor explained that emotions often take over, but one should acknowledge them rather than suppress them. “Mistakes do happen. If I say something in anger, I realize it wasn’t right, and I try to correct it immediately,” he shared.
Sunny also discussed how his on-screen image contrasts with his real-life personality. The actor, known for his intense and action-packed roles in movies such as Border and Ghayal, revealed that he isn’t someone who resorts to violence. “Why would I hit someone? I’m against violence. But when the time comes to take a stand, I don’t back down,” he stated firmly.
The actor’s upcoming film Jaat is set to release in theatres on April 10 and the audience is eager to see what unfolds next.
